7 Tips to "Stress-less" Holiday Shopping
The Holiday Season is here and I am sure the amount of gifts that need to be purchased seems a bit daunting.  Does the thought of crowded malls and endless lines have you avoiding shopping until the last minute?  Then these tips are for you!  Read the following to learn how to shop for all of those on your Holiday list with less stress, less money, and less time.
Tip #1: Make A List (And Check It Twice!)
This may seem very basic in nature, but this first tip is often times overlooked when the Holidays roll around. To begin making your Holiday shopping less stressful, make a list of all the people you actually intend to buy gifts for at least 8 weeks prior to the actual Holiday you will be celebrating.

Tip #2: Create to a Budget
Now that your list has been established, the next tip is to establish a budget for all of those on your list.  For example, if you have 15 people on your list that you intend to buy gifts for, and you want to spend no more than $1000 total; you plan on spending roughly $67 a person.

Tip #3: Know Your Gift List
For each person on your list, write down one or two hobbies or interests that they have.  This will give you a better idea of what to get and where to shop for them.

Tip #4: Start Online
At this point, you have established your list, your budget (in total and per person), and have an idea of what each person like.  The next tip is to start browsing online stores for each person.  Many times items are less expensive than their counterparts found in brick-and-mortar stores.  This is also great because you shop when it’s convenient for you, not during the hours of operation as is the case with a traditional store.

Tip #5: Gift Cards Count!
As you are going through your list, you are bound to come across a few people who you cannot find the perfect gift for.  You know, the people who seem to have everything.  This is an easy problem to solve, simply purchase them a gift card from a store that you know they will like in the amount that you have budgeted for that person.  This will save them the hassle of returning a gift they do not like after the holidays and provide them with the ability to use the gift card on items they do like.

Tip #6: Look for Sales
Starting early with your Holiday shopping gives you the advantage of time.  In the weeks that are leading up to the Holiday(s) for which you are buying gifts, pay attention to the flyers that come in the mail that you usually cast off as junk.  Many times, exclusive and short-term sales are advertised in this manner for major department stores and retail chains.

Tip #7: Learn to Bargain
As the Holidays come closer, merchants usually become more eager (a.k.a. desperate) to get rid of their stock before the end of the year.  This is great news for you, the consumer.  This means, when you are shopping at the store and see something that would be a perfect gift, don’t hesitate to ask the sales associate if they can give you a better price or if there are any coupons  available.

So there you have it, seven tips to have less stress and more success while doing your Holiday shopping this season.  Use one, a few, or all of these tips and you will definitely see a change in the amount you time, money, and energy you spend on shopping for all of the people on your list.  As always, Good Luck & Happy Shopping!
